Milan, il mio amico serbo, mi suggerisce di incontrare e vedere i suoi abitanti prima della citta’….e probabilmente ha ragione!
Belgrado e’ una citta’ strana, che risente di molti stili architettonici e influenze che nel tempo l’hanno modellata e stravolta: fortezze turche, stradine in pave’ in salsa austro-ungariche, edifici dell’epoca comunista .Il tutto vissuto dai suoi abitanti, profondamente e intimamente balcanici.
Osservare le contrattazioni nei mercanti rionali, perdersi tra i caffe’ di Dorcol, ritrovarsi a passeggiare sul bellissimo lungodanubio, cercare un filo conduttore e non trovarlo e infine rifugiarsi a Zemun, oltre il ponte, a guardare Citta’ e Danubio avendo un minimo di distanza vitale.
Belgrado ai miei occhi e’ una metropoli dentro l’animo dei suoi abitanti, abituati ad uno stile guascone e godereccio ( e Milan me lo ha confermato) Ho avuto la certezza che questa citta’ mi vuole sfuggire, non vuole farsi prendere e capire: balcani all’ennesima potenza….

Beograd is a strange city, in which you can find very different tracks and architecturals styles: time by time they left a mark in a catoci way trasforming the city. Turkish fortress, austro-hungarian’s little street and small builidings, huge monster buildings created by comunist architectures…all of those in deeply and intimate balkan way of life.
Spent my days watching the trades in some public markets, getting lost for hours in any coffe in Dorcol, hiking on wonderful danubio promenade, drinking rivers of rakja and finally refuging in Zemun for watching the city by the other part of Danubio river.
From my eyes Beograd is a metropolis inside the soul of its inhabitants, used to live with a easygoing and hedonistic lifestyle. ( Milan and Milena confirmed it). I noticed that Beogrand want to escape from me, doesn’t want to let me bring and understand by me: it seems balkans by any point of view..just balkans…unbelievable balkans
